LLF - Line Loss Factor

The LLF (Line Loss Factor) is he distance from a grid connection point and is the 3rd part of the top line of the MPAN

Distribution Losses is the difference between the electricity entering the distribution network and that leaving it (i.e. going into a meter).

  • This MPAN has an LLF of 02B

Distributor

It is the first part of the core MPAN and the ID of the distributor for the area the MPAN is in.

  • Distributor 23 is Yorkshire

Excess Capacity

A penalty charge which is levied if a Supply consumes more than its allotted ASC within a given period (p/kVA/day as per the excess capacity used)

Reactive Power

The difference between the electricity supplied and amount of power that can be used (p/kVArh)

Band

  • The ASC for the MPAN determines which band the Supply should be in

  • In this example the ASC of 3075 fits into Non Domestic Aggregated Band 1' (0 kWh to 3571 kWh)
