EI has a drill down functionality available for its reports and charts. This provides you with the option to drill down logical hierarchies within your data, viewing data from different angles and levels.

Drill down allows you step down a logical hierarchy within your data by re-calculating your report each time you move down a hierarchy.

For example a retail business may be looking at a energy cost report by sales division. To determine why one division is outperforming another you can click on the division to see the various  performances within that division.

Each time you drill down the value that you selected becomes a filter for the next level down.

Create a Report:

Click Create > Report

Drag and drop the required Dimensions and Matrix (i.e. Site Name and Cons Day Total)

Drag and drop a Time – either Calendar Year, Quarter etc. or Fiscal Year, Quarter etc. and this will automatically use the Drill Down feature.

From the Data Tab:

Click on the Year (or Quarter, Month etc) and you will drill down as follows:

Year to Quarter

Quarter to Month

Month to Week

Week to Day

Click on Start to return to the Year

From the Design Tab or Dashboard (once saved):

Click on the Month in the Tab and the Tab and the Chart will drill down

Top right will show where you have drilled down to

The arrow will undo or reset

Drill Anywhere

• Click Create > Report
• Drag and drop the required Dimensions and Metrix (i.e. Site Group Name, Site Name and Cons Day Total)
• Change the Analysis Style to Drill Anywhere

Click on the hyperlink in the Site Group or Site (or Account number, Meter number etc.) column

Choose the Item you want to Drill Down to, i.e. the Account, Meter, Supply Point etc

Then choose from the selection, i.e. Account Commodity, Account Number

Click Start to return to your original selection

From the Design Tab or Dashboard (once saved):

Click on the column in the Tab and the Tab and the Drill Anywhere options will be displayed

Top right will show where you have drilled down to

The arrow will undo or reset

Or

Click on the tabular data to enable Drill Anywhere.

From the Chart Tab:

Choose a Line Graph

Drag and drop a Dimension to the Horizonal Axis, ie the Site Group or Site

Drag and drop Set Analysis to the Vertical Axis

Complete the pop up, for example:

Set Name : 2017

Set Metric: Sum Cons Day Total

Add Filter: Calendar Year

Define Value: 2017

Submit

Add more as required.
