The Scheduler activity shows an overview of your scheduled reports. The activity is linked to the Sigma Service which is responsible for running the schedules.
Setting up Schedules - Reports
Set your report to run as you would normally but instead of clicking the Run Report button, you need to select the Schedule button.
Details
Configure the name of the schedule and add a description.
Report Configuration
This tab will display what you chose to run the report on (amend if necessary).
Report output
Enter the to, from and reply email address and the Subject
Choose the output.
End date
Choose from the options:
- Always use the specified date – uses the date specified in the Report Configuration tab.
- Adjust date relative to execution time - adjusts the date in the Report Configuration tab by the pattern in the Recurrence tab, ie by 1 day, 1 month etc.
OR
Dynamically set the date to X before execution time - this ignores the dates in the Report Configuration tab and uses the pattern in the Recurrence tab, and the date in the Activation tab.
Dynamically select X before execution time - this takes the date in the Activation tab and moves it by X. This is most useful for monthly reports where the above option will not always be accurate. This option will select the end of the selected month (or the beginning if choosing the Start date)
Start date
Same options as the End date tab.
Activation
The date and time you want to start the Scheduler.
Recurrence
Choose how often you want to run the Report.
Run time(s)
Choose the run time(s) of the Schedule.
Schedule end
Choose when you want to cease the Schedule or choose Never.
Scheduler Activity Window
Here you can view and manage your current scheduled tasks.
Schedule List – this section shows all current schedules within your database. Right-clicking on these will give you the following options: Edit, Remove or Run Now.
Scheduler Log – this section details the current status of the Scheduler system. Any problems or warnings will be highlighted in either red or yellow. You can access the full scheduler logs via the Sigma Service.
Running Schedules – this section will show any scheduled tasks that are currently running on your system. It will also highlight if the Sigma Service cannot be found.
Technical Details
The scheduler system relies upon the Sigma Service to function. If the service cannot be found then your scheduled items will fail.
Should you need to consult the Sigma Service logs you can access these from the .teamsigma directory on the hardware that runs the Sigma Service. Contact your Support team should you have any queries about this.
