Bill Read Against Self Read Channel

Compares the invoice meter readings against meter readings entered into Non-Periodic Channels.Requirements
- Needs the Meter Serial Number to be entered into the Sigma Bill entry screen and a Meter with a Non-Periodic Channel
It looks at the reading values and dates from each channel.
It will accrue from the two previous self-reads to match the most recent bill date, giving an accurate reading of what the self read value would have been on the day the bill was issued.
The Validator requires the following set up:
- The Account and the Meter to be in the same Supply PointÂ
- The Meter to have a Non-periodic Channel
- The Non-periodic Channel to have a Property Key (ELECTRIC only) called Self Read Band
- The Meter Serial Number to be entered into the Sigma Bill Entry screen

- Enter the Meter Serial Number in the Meter number field when creating the bill (or it will be automatically entered via the EDI File)
- Note: Once this has been added to a bill, it will automatically show on the next bill that is added

Bill Details:
- Previous reading - the Bill has a Meter reading value of 12345Â as of 1/2/2020 (From date)
- Present reading - the Bill has a Meter reading value of 15000Â as of 28/2/2020 (Reading date)
- Number of days in the bill = 28
Channel Details:
- The nearest date in the Channel to the from date of the bill is 1/2/2020, with a reading of 11000
- The nearest date in the Channel to the to date of the bill is 1/3/2020, with a reading of 12000Â Â (1000Â units used in 28 days)
- 1000 units / 28 days = 35.714 units per day between the two best available dates in the Channel
Calculation
35.714 units (the amount of units between dates in the Channel) x 27 (the number of days in the bill) = 964.3 (the predicted advance for the billing period)
964.3 units (the predicted advance for the billing period) added to 12345 (the previous reading in the bill)Â
